Signing up for classes

• Class sign-ups can be done through our sign up form. 

• Where possible we will work to assign you to a tutor within 2 working days of signing up for classes. 

• If demand for certain subjects is high we may have to put new sign-ups onto our waiting list. 

• When we find you a tutor we will get in touch with you via email to set up the first class. If we do not hear from you within 2 working days, we will follow up a further two times.

• After this if we still have not heard from you we will have to reassign the tutor to someone else. 

• Please note: priority will be given to students on the waiting list who are not currently receiving any tutoring from us. This is to ensure we can be as accessible as possible.

Payment

• Pay as-you-feel donations for classes with all proceeds to our partner organisation Refugee Education UK. Find out more about them here.

• First class is free. 

• Donations should then be made at the end of each month you have classes. 

• Please donate using the ‘Donate’ button on the homepage of our website. 

• We will send reminder emails at the end of the month for you to pay for the classes you have had over the past month. 

• If we do not receive your donation within a week of the reminder email, we will send another final reminder email. 

• If we have still not heard anything from you within 3 working days of the second email we will have to suspend classes. 

• We have a long waiting list and we want to make sure we can be as accessible as possible so it is not fair to allow pupils to have classes without making a donation.

Contact with the Learning By Heart team 

• Please try to reply to all emails received from the Learning By Heart team (excluding newsletters/promotions) within 2 working days. Quick replies will always benefit you as we can sort out any issues as quickly as possible.

• The Learning By Heart team is mainly active Monday-Friday so please bear with us if you email over the weekend as replies may be slower.

Contact between tutors and pupils/parents 

• For safeguarding reasons, we ask that all contact is kept via email and that you CC the Learning By Heart email into email chains. This allows the team to help moderate the contact and ensure classes are getting set up when they are supposed to etc.
